This is kind of random, and barely connected to the 49ers, but I figured it was fun to share anyway. The folks at Esurance gave away $1.5 million as part of a Super Bowl promotion, and the video above features the man who won. He's in Northern California, and when Jimmy Kimmel's Aunt Chippy brought the $1.5 million (in cash!) to his house, he was sporting a 49ers hat.
The promotion was based on an Esurance commercial that aired during the Super Bowl post-game show. John Krasinki (formerly of The Office) talked about how the company saved $1.5 million by airing the ad after the game instead of during the game. The company then "decided" they would give those savings away to one luck winner. All you had to do was tweet out #Esurancesave30 and you would be entered. They randomly chose a person, and this guy won (also named John).
Given that the contest was run two weeks after the 49ers loss to the Seahawks, I imagine John will be able to get past the loss. And maybe he'll invest in some Levi's Stadium season tickets.
