How much is it going to cost Seattle to keep Michael Bennet?

Michael Bennet on a 3 year / $15M contract offer.

That would be taking a pay cut, to me, I had to prove myself as a player back-to-back years. Basically, I took a one year deal the year before, did a first-round tender in Tampa [as a restricted free agent], so I definitely just want to be paid. You know, I’m not trying to be the highest paid guy but I want to be compensated with the top guys.

So what will Michael Bennet be looking for? To get an idea, let's take a look at the top 50 APY contracts for 43 Defensive Ends in 2013.

As we can see from the graph, there is a sharp pay jump between good and elite 43DEs. If Michael Bennett is considered an elite DE, then his APY will start at around $12M. From his comments, I'm pretty sure he's looking for a contract in that range.

In order to clear space, the Seahawks could release Chris Clemons or Red Bryant, but they would still need to clear another 4-5 million. That will make signing extensions Sherman, Wilson and Thomas that much more difficult.
