The 49ers brass is certainly busy during this offseason. Between extremely annoying rumors, half court shots, and working out with a Walrus, the fact that they still find time to do their jobs is amazing. Yesterday, members of the 49ers coaching staff attended two Pro Days. Jim Harbaugh was at Virginia Tech and and QB coach Geep Chryst was at San Jose State. The 49ers are going to do their due diligence, that much is certain. They could be at these pro days because they really like one of the prospects or they could just be looking at as many players as they possibly can. Not knowing what is going to happen is what makes the offseason so fun, even if the no fun league ruined a lot of it by pushing the draft back a month.
In a piece of great news yesterday, the Competition Committee announced their annual proposed rule changes. In the proposed changes (#10) is the NaVorro Bowman rule. The Bowman rule changes what is not reviewable under the old rule. Now, when a linebacker strips and recovers the ball on the goal line while having his leg gruesomely bent in half sideways, and still hangs onto the ball long enough to be touched down, the refs can review whether he was down by contact before being stripped. Thankfully for my TV the 49ers got the ball on the next play, because I was so hot after that play that I probably would have punched a hole through my TV and would have had to go to the hospital. It won't make the loss any easier, but at least justice is probably going to be served. To the links!
