Draft Options and Crazy Theories

Maybe my instincts are fool hardy but something is up between the 49ers and the Cleveland Browns. The reports last month about coach Harbaugh being traded were a smoke screen IMO, but player trades or draft day trades are a viable reason why the two teams were in the news. You saw it here first...

The Browns are predicted in a majority of mock drafts to take Manziel, so why do they miss his pro day? The Browns have made a decision, or they've made a trade. Coach gushed over Manziel and it makes great sense to draft Manziel, lotsa sense. If coach has determined Colins weaknesses outweigh his upside, it makes no sense to give him the huge contract he'll want. With Manziel on the team, that contract may go with Colin to another team. Manziel provides many many options.

The team needs one legit WR and a pair of CBs. This draft is deep with WRs. CBs not as much. They can acquire both and still trade up for Manziel. If coach sees more in Manziel than he does in Colin, he wants him and gets the considerable benefits a Colin trade would bring.

Nothing is certain. Every act in the NFL contains risks. Playing your gut is often the decision maker. Harbaugh knows QBs. His history is astounding considering all the variables. He can make Manziel magnificent if anyone can.

Something went down between the Niners and the Browns. Well find out on draft day if I'm right.
