Mock Draft Round 2

I made a mock draft earlier, and got some flack by it. So hopefully I’ll redeem myself! I will mock that the 9ers do trade their 1st draft and their last 3rd (100th) to the Packers for their first pick (21st). Then, I see them trading up in the 2nd round as well. Giving Oakland their first second round pick(56) and their 2nd third round pick (94) for Raiders’ 2nd round pick (36) Here we go:

1st pick(21st): Jason Verrett, CB, TCU

-Yes he is small and yes this league is going towards more taller corners. But you cannot ignore this dudes covering skills, IQ, and physicality. He is solid, and not a lot of people would mind if he just cover the slot position, especially with his 4.3 speed. There was even talk that he can play Safety (not needed, but more use for a team the more value). Plus, we do not immediately need to draft a WR when we have Crab, AQ, and Patton. I’d go with the CB for the fist pick.

2.A(36th): Jordan Mathews, WR, Vanderbilt

-21 reps on the bench and 4.43 40 means a possible good production for this 6’3 WR. He cam make plays, period. Plus, he would be a good red zone target for Cap to look high for. Him, Crabtree, AQ, and Patton on our roster? I’ll say yes to that.

2.B(61):Trent Murphy, DE, Standford.

-I see Justin Smith all over this man. His body and his play style. I feel as if this can be our pick of the future. Since Cowboy is 34 and on his last year, plus having Ray-Mac being 30 as well. It could be a good possibility for a Tank-Trent combo at our ends in the future.

3. Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas

-I would rather grab Westion Richburg out of Colorado, but he would probably get grabbed before us. Out of the top three centers, he is the most aggressive. Pass blocking is alright…..But competition for Kilgore for the starting spot will bring the best out of these two. We all want to see that happen.

4.Logan Thomas, QB, Virginia Tech

-Definitely see a pick addressing our 3rd string QB. This dude has the qualities to follow the footsteps of Cap. Although may not be as good as Colin, he can decently play in the same offense has him. Plus, Jimmy has shown interest in him. Coincidence?

Everything else: Very hard to tell, so I don’t even bother.

Thoughts?
