It looks more and more certain that Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans, Marquis Lee and Odell Beckham Jr. will be gone when it's time for the 49ers to pick at number 30.
So, I don't understand why more 49ers fans aren't talking about Donte Moncrief. Granted his stats aren't as amazing as Brandin Cooks but they are solid. His last two seasons at Ole Miss have him at 938 yards with 6 TDs, and 979 yards with 10 TDs. The difference is that Donte Monciref played with two terrible quarterbacks and against some of the toughest defenses and corner backs in college.
We need a WR to take the top off of defenses. Brandin Cooks is more of a shifty slot receiver. There isn't a lot of tape of Brandin Cooks going deep. At Ole Miss going deep is most of what Donte Moncrief did. Plus the guy loves to block.
Here are some of Donte's measurables:
40 time: 4.40 (top 3 wide receiver)
Vertical jump: 39.5 (top 5 wide receiver)
Arm length: 32 3/8
So he is fast enough to take the top off a defense plus he can jump high enough to come up with contested balls. Plus, he has long arms so he has a huge catching radius.
Here he is consistently burning LSU's 2012 defense (You know, the one that had a current 49er on it):
