I would like to get your awesome opinions in regard to what our best case scenario come May.
So let's say you're Trent Baalke, you have the option to make it to pick 12 by giving up 30, a 2nd this year, and a 3rd next. At that pick 12 you have your choice of Evans, Dennard, gilbert, or Lee-for whatever reason all the top 10 teams took qbs, clowney, mack, ot's, barr, and watkins- I'm sure watkins will be gone at 12. (Don't kill me over the deal I'm not looking at pick value charts, and this is just an option.) You can trade back and get a 2nd in the top 10 for this year and a 2nd next year for pick 30, or we have our choice at 30 of fuller, verret, roby, beckham, j matthews, Benjamin, or cooks. What do you do?
I'm only asking for 1st round, although if you want to get into a hypothetical 7 round mock go ahead.
If I had my choice I'd trade up for Gilbert, and then I'd go with a wide out in round 2, or if there was a clear cut bpa that was at least some what of a need. And you still have 2 3rds. With one of the 3rds I'm taking a wr if we didn't take one in round 2, and then I'm bpa'ing with the other 3rd.
So in conclusion, I've read a lot of NN comments and I'd go on a limb and say we basically agree with the 9ers only having at most 5 roster spots, after we do my trade up we still have pick 12, still have a 2nd, two 3rds, and two 4ths. That right there is 6 roster spots. And with the later round picks still there you have ammo to trade up as needed in the 3rd and 4th rounds to get who we want. I think that is my best case scenario, but I'd love to hear your opinions.
