This may or may not shed a little light on what is, up to this point, a murky situation involving Aldon Smith. Unnamed sources close to the incident say that the situation started at the ticket counter where Smith apparently could not produce photo identification.
If any of you have tried to fly on a commercial airline without photo ID lately, you know what happens next, I'm assuming most of you have not. Ultimately, you get the third degree at every stage of the travel process.
- You will be questioned extensively at the ticket counter or boarding pass distribution site in an attempt to verify your identity
- You will be questioned extensively at security checkpoint
- You may be selected for secondary screening
- You could be patted down and your belongings can be searched by hand even after going through the X-ray machine
This may feel like to harassment to some, and quite possibly to Smith, but as most of us would understand, it's a necessary evil. Apparently Smith did not like this type of treatment and subsequently became irritable and used that four letter word that starts with a B that no one should ever say in an airport unless they are prepared to face the consequences. He said that word several times within earshot of on duty TSA agents. He managed to pass through security checkpoint and was shortly after approached by the policemen you saw in the TMZ video.
This is not a validation of any behavior whatsoever, just a description of what led up to the video.
