2014 NN community mock draft: With the 25th pick, the San Diego Chargers select ...

The 2014 Niners Nation NFL mock draft is off and running. We move on to the San Diego Chargers, courtesy of user CraigRED&GOLD.

We're back for the 25th pick of the 2014 Niners Nation Community Mock Draft. You can see previous picks below in the draft table. You can also follow the mock draft board through this story stream.

With the 25th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, CraigRED&GOLD and the San Diego Chargers select Louis Nix III, DT, Notre Dame. He also considered Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby or UCLA offensive lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo. Here are his thoughts on the pick:

With the 25th pick the San Diego Chargers select defensive lineman Louis Nix III. Considered to be the best defensive tackle in the draft, he would immediately bolster their porous D-line. 6'2" 350 lbs, who would anchor the middle of their line. Has good speed for someone his size and is great with his hands. Shows good play recognition and does well anchoring then shedding blocks.

With every top CB off the board the Chargers are ecstatic to nab this premier DLine prospect.

Trevor Woods: The biggest needs of the Chargers are interior offensive line, defensive tackle, and cornerback. The names mentioned as alternatives are both good choices, but I see the Bolts taking Nix here. Although Nix may be highly touted, I'm not one of those who believe he will be a good pro. I see a player who will have a hard time with his stamina in the pros, getting worn down easily against NFL offensive lineman who should win the battles against Nix more often than not. I live near Notre Dame and I've gotten to watch a lot of Nix, and he is a prospect who takes plays off and when things aren't going well he gives up instead of showing his grit. The pick is logical but I would not take Nix with my first round selection. A choice of Nix here will help the 49ers, as it will keep another quality cornerback on the board in Bradley Roby.

Nick Chiamardas: I really like Nix and if not for a late season ending injury in 2013, I think he goes in the top half of this draft (he still may). Nix projects as a nose tackle but the 6-2, 331 pound lineman is quick and agile enough to line up just about anywhere along the defensive line. The Chargers have a glaring need at corner but with enough depth to grab one in the second round, the Chargers may have the steal of the draft with this pick.
