2014 NN community mock draft: With the 34th pick, Washington selects ...

The 2014 Niners Nation NFL mock draft is off and running. We move on to Washington, courtesy of user THETONY#1.

We're back for the 34th pick of the 2014 Niners Nation Community Mock Draft. You can see previous picks below in the draft table. You can also follow the mock draft board through this story stream.

With the 34th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, THETONY#1 and Washington select Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama. He also considered Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby. Here are his thoughts on the pick:

Washington has managed to address a number of needs on their roster this offseason, which plays into their lack of a first-round pick in this upcoming draft. One position of need that remains is at right tackle, where the unimpressive Tyler Polumbus stands as the incumbent. Kouandjio is a mammoth of a man, standing at 6'7" and weighing 322 pounds (which he carries very well). He recently conducted his second Pro Day at Alabama, where he improved his 40 time and vertical, and looked much more relaxed and fluid during on-field drills in front of scouts that included members of Washington.

What makes Kouandjio so special is his long arms, light feet and strong hands. He is a mountain of un-molded clay, just waiting for a offensive line guru to mold him into their ideal offensive linemen. Yeah, he's the guy you would create on Madden 25! Cyrus is a mauler in every sense of the word. Once he latches on to an opponent, they are not going anywhere. He uses those 10 1/4" hands to steer defenders away from the football, and his thick lower body allows him to anchor and drive defenders out of the picture.

Trevor Woods: After Robert Griffin III's nasty torn ACL two seasons ago, Washington is still looking to improve their offensive line. Last season, Griffin was laying on the ground all too often, taking big hit after big hit. Washington also could use an interior linebacker here.

Nick Chiamardas: Washington gets rather lukcy here to have Kouandijo fall into their laps at 34. Grabbing a starting caliber tackle with his upside is rare this 'late' in the draft. Having flirted with Donald Penn in the offseason it appears likely Washington looks to address the OL with this or their third round pick. Needs at safety and OLB leave them plenty of options here but Kouandijo's upside makes this pick the right one for Washington.
