Exactly how the 2014 season will play out for the 49ers

Well, it's the offseason and the NFL can be incredibly boring this time of year, so I figured I'd give you guys something to look forward to. Soooooo, I was working the other day and took a nice blow to the head and while I am perfectly fine, I was laying around the next day watching "America's Game" on the beloved 1984 49ers and the stars began to align. Now I don't know how long it will last but I've seen enough movies, read enough comics and played enough video games to know that my work accident granted me a small portion of psychic ability. It happens right? Well, without further ado, here's how the future, past and present all align.

1981-The 49ers after nearly a decade of being an NFL doormat, under (fairly) new Coach Walsh win their first Super Bowl, with it comes a sense validity and new found expectations.

2011-The 49ers after nearly a decade of being an NFL doormat, under (brand) new Coach Harbaugh return to the playoffs and secure their first playoff victory in close to a decade, fans rejoice as though a Super Bowl had been won. The 49ers are relevant again and expected to compete for Lombardi's every year.

1982-The 49ers are defending World Champions but fail to even reach the playoffs, truly the worst fate for any defending champion. They have no opportunity to defend their title and the season, though strike shortened, is a massive disappointment.

2012-The 49ers win back to back NFC West crowns and head to their second NFC Championship Game in as many years, where they defeat the Atlanta Falcons and head to their sixth Super Bowl appearance. Having never lost a Super Bowl the team seemed destined for number six, only to be shut out down by the goal line on four consecutive attempts by the eventual champions, The Baltimore Ravens, in the waning minutes of the game. Losing the franchises first Super Bowl, handing the team and fans the most disappointing loss and end to a season to date.

1983-The 49ers fresh off an utterly disappointing 1982 find themselves refocused on football and committed to winning, they finish the season with their second NFC West crown in three years before a bitterly disappointing loss in the NFC Championship Game.

2013-The 49ers fresh off an utterly disappointing end to the 2012 season find themselves immediately refocused and committed to winning. They finish the season earning their third straight playoff appearance and had won two NFC West crowns in three years before a bitterly disappointing loss in the NFC Championship Game to the hated current NFC West champions and eventual Super Bowl champions, The Seattle Seahawks.

1984-The 49ers find themselves having holes to fill on the roster thanks to the new USFL, dealing with distractions off of the field i.e. contract disputes and rumblings of discontent within the organization, maybe a bit too much "creative friction." All this, plus a lack of a distinguishable team personality, would be overcome as the team would finish 15-1 en route to a Super Bowl decimation of the favored Miami Dolphins and Dan "laces out" Marino and an NFL record 18 wins. Montana would win MVP honors after having a truly amazing day and the team itself may be the greatest that ever played.......

2014-The 49ers find themselves having holes to fill on the roster thanks to free agency, injury and possibly suspensions, dealing with distractions off of the field i.e. legal matters and rumblings of discontent within the organization, maybe a bit too much "creative friction." All of this WILL be overcome as the team WILL finish 15-1 en route to a Super Bowl decimation of what WILL be the favored New England Patriots and Tom "my wife makes me wear Uggs" Brady and an NFL record 18 wins. Some brash, "thuggish" , QB named Colin Kaepernick WILL win MVP honors after a truly amazing day and the team itself will forever be remembered as one the greatest of all times........Book it my good friends.
