How does Baalke Maximize a big-talent draft class with our plethora of picks?
-Trade down from 30...Texas gives us the 33rd pick and a 4th round pick**
-Trade down from 33rd...let Falcons go get a pass rusher, in exchange for 37th pick their 5th round pick. **
-trade up with Pats or Broncos to get ahead of Seattle at bottom of 2nd
37th-Benjamin or Latimer (I was down on Benjamin, then I saw a video of him blocking the snot out of a DB)
56th-Desir, Breeland, or Joyner (I count about 10 CB's named as 1st-2nd round possibilities, by necessity one-third of the league will not pick that position ahead of us...a starting capable CB will fall.
61st-Fiedorowicz (If we take Benjamin, then we might not take another big, blocking receiver...BUT...Fied's, Big-Benj, Vance McD, and VD, would stack up well to push Seattle around...I think.
62nd-Landry or Matthews or Bryant (11+ WR's named as top two round possibles...phenomenal all-stars will fall)
94th-Bryant or Landry or BPA
129th-Fales (If Kap won't be reasonably resigned OR he falls short again...then perhaps go with a pocket passer we'll rename, Mr. accurate)
147th- Dri Archer (because 1950 convinced me...too fast, too versatile to pass on late-ish into the draft)
170th-RB/FB/TE-Trey Millard (versatile, up side, bruising)
7th rndr-Lyerla and other sundry prospects
Course changing possibilities:
If Evans, Gilbert, or Dennard fall down below the top 16 draft picks, perhaps cash in some chips if someone wants to deal down. Not likely though.
I'm not convinced the talent of OBJ so exceeds all the other WR's to justify a trade up in the first.
If Verret falls to 30 perhaps take him as BPA...trade assets to get back up into the 2nd as needed if this happens
NO linemen. We are over stacked with realistic starters and roll players at both DL and OL.
**I may be selling us short on the trade value, but thought this to be a conservative exchange...getting more/better is gravy.
