Maybe not everyone shares this view, but I see Mike Evans as the next star receiver in the NFL. I think he will be niice. And I think our 49rs could use him on our team. I also believe that we can find a good corner a little later in the draft (round 2 or 3, maybe even 4).
So where do we need to trade up to to get Evans? My guess is somewhere around picks 7-10. This is an imagined scenario where we can trade up to get him.
Say the Bills are willing to move back, but like most teams drafting in the top 10, they do not want to trade all the way down to 30 even though we have a million draft picks and we could hook them up.
Now say Balke ponders this and talks to Jim, "hey ol buddy ol pal could you call up your bro again?" Jim ya sure haven't talked to the him in a minute.
What happens next (note I don't know/am not looking at any trade value charts) is we trade our pick 30 and our 3rd round pick #13 to the Ravens for pick 17. But no we do not draft OBJ or somebody else there! We then talk to the Bills again, their response, sure we will move down to pick 17. We trade them our second round pick at 29 our 2015 3rd round pick, which will be #32 anyways so who needs it. And maybe we give the Bills something else icing on the cake status such as LMJ or our 5th round pick. Alternate idea is that we don't trade them a future 3rd we trade them like a future 4th and we trade them a better player (we are gonna have some trouble fitting a ton of players on the final 53 anyways so this prevents a cut.
If I am right about the future greatness of Mike Evans do yall think this would make sense?
Any people who think this idea sucks? (i bet there are)
Oh and do any of these trades make any sense trade value wise? I know I was somewhat vague about the Bills trade.
