[I read the Dr. James (Surgeon for Roger Clemens, Jordan, AP and other great athletes) (Vox) interview and felt moved to comment but it was a VOX article and no NN comment option]
Let's face it, do the owners and Franchise QBs really need another $10M added to their bottom line every 5 years or so? The NFL is facing an embarrassment of riches...and this being a very violent game...I feel as though some of that money should be ear-marked to support the players of the future: Highschool Players.
I'm not looking for something very lofty...just something totally practical and doable which was mentioned by Dr. James:
Paramedics and an Ambulance at EVERY high-school game....w/ the NFL paying for it. Simple and specific but very far reaching in terms of visibility and most importantly, helping the players in a real way.
I know the players union has provisions to help the past players, but how about looking out for the kids as well? (beyond these PLay60 initiatives which seems like just another NFL marketing commercial)
