Good morning everyone, yesterday was one of the unfortunate slow days this time of year seems to be riddled with. In one of the few pieces of news, Mike Florio has a source telling him that Aldon Smith will almost certainly be suspended to start the season. I know, I'm shocked as well, everyone take a moment to pick your jaws up off the floor and we can continue.
Florio is right up there on the list of annoying national sports writers, but lost in my distaste of PFT is the very real issue of Aldon Smith's sentencing and in turn, the length of his inevitable suspension. If what we have been lead to believe is true, Aldon should not see any jail time but I must admit I am a bit worried about the suspension. Apparently, the league has taken his self enforced rehab stint into account for his DUI problem, but the fake bomb threat just piles on another layer of stupidity onto that. The pessimistic side of me expects good ol' Rog to drop the hammer on Aldon to the tune of six or more games. I hope I'm wrong but either way we'll find out about a month from now so we should just get to those links. Beat Germany!
