Fooch's Note: I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but move this to the front page. This isn't quite KSWOF-level FanPost awesomeness, but it entertained me. I appreciate a good trolling effort once in a while.
I think Harbaugh is jealous of other quarterbacks especially the ones on his team. He doesn't want them to succeed or to 'show him up' because it magnifies his failures as a NFL player which is why he got rid of Alex Smith. Alex's competence exposed Harbaughs lack of it which is evidenced by Smiths successes with less compared to Kaps failures with more. You always eliminate the threat so good-bye Alex.
The ongoing player arrests, the lack of control, the general lawlessness is not an apparition. It's an unfortunate by-product of Harbaugh's short-lived negative-motivation techniques, e.g. berating a player instead of positively-reinforcing him. Why do you think they fail at crunch-time? Why do you think so many players are injured? They'd rather sit in a cot than perform for an ego-beater. Does your dog want to fetch when all you do is kick him? He'll begrudgingly get the ball but his heart isn't in it, which is why the 49ers fall short each time they near success. Freud said it best:
"The super-ego retains the character of the father, while the more powerful the Oedipus complex was and the more rapidly it succumbed to repression (under the influence of authority, religious teaching, schooling and reading), the stricter will be the domination of the super-ego over the ego later on—in the form of conscience or perhaps of an unconscious sense of guilt."—Freud, The Ego and the Id (1923)
It's sad really, the naievty (or ignorance) of Trent Baalke. He's the one person seemingly not punch-drunk on NFC-Championship game defeat lattes who could pull the plug and end this misery but alas he's too consumed by his 2011 press releases of narcissistic pre-mature ego-jock-ulation:
"Transference neuroses correspond to a conflict between the ego and the id; narcissistic neuroses, to a conflict between the ego and the superego; and psychoses, to one between the ego and the external world."—Freud, Neurosis and Psychosis (1923)
At least Eddie DeBartolo can see what's going on. That is of course, if he still isn't in jail. Either way the death march goes on like lemmings on a migration. Sure there will be glimpses of hope. Some fruit and berries along the way. An upside down bottle cap with water in it. Until the cataclsymic harshness of their futile reality sinks in.
See the truth. Prepare for the worst. We must purge the devil.
It's our only salvation.
