It is time for the lovey-dovey pie in the sky talk to stop. Niners Nation will find any reason to think that the 49ers got the best end of any deal.
Perfect example: Colin Kaepernick.
Yes, he can run. He throws a mean fastball. But, can he read progressions? Dude, Patton was WIDE OPEN! Even he admits he needs "some" work on it. (Typical understatement.) Where is the touch needed on the ball? If he had any touch he would have gotten that pass to Crabtree and we would at the very least be in the Superbowl. He also needs to learn to avoid hits. RGIII is bigger and tougher, and got hurt. Kaepernick better be very thankful that he has the #1 O-line over the past 20 years.
But let's say he does have some brains (doubtful, he went to UNR, and we all know the quality of their education) and can learn a few things and maybe become a middling QB. What concerns me most is his character. He plays this "me against the world" meme way too much. He hangs out with questionable people in Florida smoking bongs. Though he sneaked his way out of the charges this time, we know lots of things go unreported. How about the scores of women he's taking advantage of? Flashing gang signs everywhere? Now he's getting paid more per week than a lot of police officers do in a year!
And this talk about "the team". His actions prove otherwise. He's a tat-infested visage who loves showing off his naked body to anybody and everybody. Yeah, his tattoos are "bible verses"; did he read the one about the body being a temple and not to desecrate it? Hypocrite. This is evidence that he is all for himself. Another point he is all for himself: you notice that he runs out of bounds so quickly? Or slides when someone is near him? Wimp!
Finally, the contract terms. All I hear is "blah, blah, he is looking out for the team and his teammates". Yeah right! The 49ers wouldn't offer him any better! After all, if he were offered a billion dollars right now, I guarantee he would sign it in a New York minute! Do you really think he wanted to take a contract that has de-escalators in it? He can talk about "I'm my biggest critic" and "wanting to push myself" all he wants; we already know he's a hypocrite and unwilling to speak the truth. (Why not just talk to the cops Colin? Afraid?)
I'm SICK AND TIRED of this guy. Maybe I'll quit following this team and go follow a class organization. Like the Browns. At least they got someone who can play QB.
