Good Morning everyone, Aldon Smith's hearing was pushed forward a week due to a family emergency for one of the prosecutors. Because of that we finally get some closure on this nasty series of issues. He received 12 days in Jail that can also be served as part of a work crew that picks up trash on Mondays. In addition, Aldon was also sentenced to a $2000 fine, 235 hours of community service, and three years probation, during which he cannot possess guns or ammunition.
Left unstated, and probably more important from a fan perspective, is the length of his inevitable suspension. The general consensus seems to be in the range of 2-4 games but I believe that Rog will drop the hammer on Aldon. A bunch is made of his self imposed rehab stint, and I really do believe that the league was going to let the DUI issue conclude with that. But to almost immediately get caught up in another hair brained scandal makes the league look bad. I expect eight games that will eventually be appealed down to six, right where the league wants his suspension to be. I hope I'm wrong and two games is all he receives, but I won't be holding my breath. Now lets get to the links.
