Yep, it has been a year since Colin Kaepernick wore a Miami Dolphins hat, and a chunk of the 49ers fanbase lost their collective minds. It was an amusing little spectacle because in the grand scheme of things, it really didn't matter.
Since Allen Iverson was sporting throwback basketball jerseys to press conferences, more and more athletes sport random gear of other teams in both their league, and other sports. This actually became a minor thing last month in Washington, D.C. Over the course of the offseason, Wizards guard John Wall has been spotted wearing a variety of jerseys, including the Pacers, Hawks, and Suns. The Washington Post wrote something on it, but there was very limited concern. And I don't think many Wizards fans have really cared too much about it.
We had some people here who had a problem with it, but I think for the most part people got the idea that it was not a big deal. I don't think most people thought he was going to head to Miami when he became a free agent, but there was this notion that he was somehow promoting other teams, and shouldn't be doing that. Whatever the case, it's over. Although, if we spotted Michael Crabtree in a Cowboys hat, I think a few people on this site would have lost their minds!
