Hope everybody is having a great 4th of July weekend. It's quiet for the 49ers, but the rest of the sports world is keeping busy. I figured I'd open up a thread for some Saturday evening enjoyment.
The World Cup has its semifinals all set. Germany will face Brazil, and the Netherlands will face Argentina. I wouldn't mind seeing a Brazil-Argentina final just because the crowd for that game will be kind of crazy. My pools are just about finished for me. Belgium and Colombia were my two best shots at winning some money, and both are gone. Such is life.
The Giants are currently playing the Padres, and the A's face the Blue Jays. My A's dropped the hammer Friday evening as they swung a trade with the Cubs that sent two former No. 1 picks for Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel. Billy Beane certainly dropped the mic with that trade. They're all in for a run at the World Series this year, so fingers crossed they can make it work!
Anybody up to anything particularly fun this holiday weekend? Only 11 more days until rookies report to Santa Clara!
