At the beginning of each game the starters are announced and the players run out to center field. Up until the past two years at The Stick the Niners entered the field through a large inflatable helmet with a fog machine blowing out the grill. It was hokey, but is was pretty cool and got the game off to a fun start...
Two years ago all that changed. I don't know if the helmet got stolen, ruptured or what, but they decided to do without it and opted instead to have a couple dozen drunk VIPs and their kids hold up cheap looking flags down the runway as the players came out. Sooooo lame! Half the people holding flags were so busy drinking and talking to each other they didn't even notice when the players were announced! Less than half of them were even wearing niners gear...I can only assume they were corporate VIPs...even lamer!
Levi's Stadium represents a great chance for a fresh start! First off the players will come out at mid field (not through an old dugout) and the drunk VIP's will be hidden away in the VIP club under that stands. VIPs happy...fans happy...so far so good. What I wonder is what other props will there be to hail the entry of our troops?! My personal favorite is the shark head that the San Jose Sharks skate through onto rink...what is the niner equivalent? A new inflatable helmet? Fireworks? More lame flags?
Not a damn thing is happening in football, so let's all image what the first game in the new stadium is going to be like! I am personally paying over $300/seat every game and I want a Vegas quality show to start things off!!! What's it going to be?
