The San Francisco 49ers are back for Day 8 of training camp practice. The Friday practice is a late one, kicking off at 5 p.m. PT. Coach Harbaugh was asked about the late start, and he said the idea was just to mix in some of the potential start times. The 49ers have had practices at 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and now 5 p.m. They'll play some games that are a 10 a.m. PT kickoff, and others that are a 5:30 p.m. PT kickoff. I suppose they might as well mess around with it a bit.
We already know that Michael Crabtree and Brandon Lloyd will be absent from practice today. Coach Harbaugh said Nick Moody felt something yesterday, and will see if he can go today. He also said Marcus Martin will continue working his way back. He did individual work yesterday, and will continue that, but will get to full drills sooner rather than later.
Once again, we'll be keeping an eye on some of the younger guys. We'll want to see if Vance McDonald continues dealing with drops, or can start to clean that up. We'll want to see how Chris Culliver, Jimmie Ward, and Darryl Morris are doing. Perrish Cox has been leading the way the last few days. Can he keep it up, or is this just some training camp flash?
I've posted the media Twitter list down below, so you can follow practice there. Given the late end time on the practice, I'm not sure yet if we'll have a recap up tonight. It might not arrive until tomorrow morning. The beat writer recaps will show up in the twitter feed however, so keep an eye on that.
