Well that was not the dream the team had for their home opener at Levi's Stadium. Putting up 0 points in the 1st game at the brand new stadium is not the way to start. After the first 2 preseason games, the 49ers have been outscored 57-3. While these are technically meaningless games, there is one thing that Niners fans will not like. The backup QB situation is not looking good at all. There is no one behind Kap that Niner fans would have much faith in. The leader of that group is Blaine Gabbert. He is only #2 behind Colin because of his price tag. He has not played well. The season could be a disaster if Kap went down.
As far as the rest of the doom and gloom of losing 34-0, it is not all that bad. The projected starting defensive line did not play at all. Patrick Willis and Tramaine Brock did not play as well. The defense should still be stout when they start the season. The offense still needs to get in sync before the season starts. That will take some time, but it shouldn't be too long till they hit a rhythm. More time working together should fix that. We know that Kap has a connection with Crabtree, Boldin, Davis and these three will still be his most worked targets in the regular season. And the running game will be fine when the season starts. Frank Gore is just being saved for the real games.
Relax Niner fans. Let's get to the regular season.
