The San Francisco 49ers technically wrapped up "training camp" last week, and now are into what I guess we can just call strictly the preseason. The change means the 49ers have the option of closing practices, and the team has exercised that option. They will have one more practice open through team drills, which is the Wednesday open practice at Levi's Stadium. Other than that, all practices the rest of this preseason and through the year will be open to the media for individual work, but then closed once team drills begin.
Today's practice begins at 2:45 p.m. PT. Prior to that, Jim Harbaugh will meet with the media at 11:45 a.m. I've embedded the media Twitter list down below, but you can also watch the press conference live via 49ers.com/live. The 49ers will also have it available on replay later this afternoon. And of course, we'll have a transcript before the end of the evening.
This practice marks the first session since the 49ers preseason loss to the Denver Broncos. The big question for the limited part of practice we'll hear about is whether or not Antoine Bethea is taking part. I would be surprised if he was fully involved. He has to go through the concussion protocol, which I'm sure Jim Harbaugh will be asked about at some point. There is no rush to get Bethea back on the field this month, so we'll see if he plays in either of the final two preseason games.
