Good morning everyone. Yesterday the 49ers cut the roster down to the 75 that are required at this point in the cut down process. They'll play against the Texans on Thursday with this roster before cutting down to the final 53 on Saturday. In order to get down to 75, some tough cuts needed to be made, and injured players were put in their proper designations. For the second year in a row, Sacramento State was disrespected by the 49ers when McLeod Bethel-Thompson (AKA McBLT) was one of the cuts. I have to say, as someone who considers the fine institution practically a home away from home, the 49ers are walking on thin ice. If they keep up this self destructive path, they'll only get about six or seven more chances from me before I start to get offended.
In a bit of good news, Marcus Martin is "only" going to be out 8 weeks with a dislocated knee. Eight weeks is a tough pill to swallow, but normally when a player goes down like he did, an ACL is what we fear. A dislocated knee is definitely a step up from a torn ACL. Still, the offensive line was pretty much awful when the starters for both sides were in. Mike Iupati got his lunch money taken by Corey Liuget, and Anthony Davis still hasn't played at all. Obviously Alex Boone would be a welcome addition at this point, but I have to agree with Fooch on something he said during the game. Corey Liuget makes LG Mike Iupati hit himself with his own fists and RG Alex Boone is going to make all the difference in the world? I don't think so. Anyways, I really couldn't care less about the outcome of a preseason game. Last week, I even advocated for trying to set an all time record for getting blown out in the preseason. It's probably a little late now, but the reactions it would have gotten would have been hilarious. Now lets get to those links.
