The wide receivers, quarterbacks and running backs will be going through workouts on Saturday, and one player to keep an eye on will be wide receiver Phillip Dorsett. The Miami, FL product visited with the San Francisco 49ers this week, according to Eric Branch. The 49ers probably won't end up drafting Dorsett, but he would seem to at least be on the radar to some degree.
Dorsett ran his two 40-yard dashes at the Combine, and finished with unofficial 4.35 and 4.33 times. He is a speedy threat who said he wanted to break 4.3 in the 40. He caught 36 passes for 871 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 24.2 yards per reception. He is unlikely to carry that kind of average over to the NFL, but clearly he is a guy who can make big plays. It appears size is a bit of an issue for now, and while he is fast, he will need to deal with more physical corners at the NFL level. He measured in at 5'10, 185 pounds. He is not the smallest guy out there, but he is on the smaller end of the scale.
Here are a few scouting reports on Dorsett:
