The San Francisco 49ers were 2 yards away from forcing overtime against the Miami Dolphins. Colin Kaepernick maneuvered the team down the field in the last 2 minutes to have a chance at extending the game. Colin scrambled on the last play of the game, but was hit hard 2 yards from the end zone to give the 49ers a 10th consecutive loss. The team will stay in the East Coast before traveling to Chicago to face the Bears.
Colin once again showed steady improvement. He threw for 296 yards with 3 touchdowns. He also led the team in rushing. He ran 10 times for 113 yards. In his last 4 games, he’s completing 59% of his passes for 278 yards and has 8 touchdowns to 2 interceptions. He looks much more comfortable in Chip’s offense and is giving teams, including the 49ers, film to show he can play quarterback in the NFL. With the restructuring of his contract, the offseason for Colin is looking more interesting.
The 49ers run defense played well against a running back that is having a great season. They held Jay Ajayi to 45 yards on 18 attempts and 1 touchdown. They allowed Ryan Tannehill to have a good game however. Ryan threw for 3 touchdowns and 285 yards. The game came down to the 49ers trailing by 17 points in the 4th quarter, which was just too much to come back from. The loss kept the 49ers in the #2 overall spot in the NFL draft.
