Welcome back for another day of college football bowl action! We’re back with another look at the latest bowl game, highlighting and profiling a few notable draft-eligible prospects you should pay attention to this evening. This will help us build a list of names to know when we get into the offseason and really get into draft prep. For today's action we take a look at Idaho vs. Colorado State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Idaho Vandals vs. Colorado State Rams
Conference Affiliations: Sun Belt vs. Mountain West
Date: Thursday, December 22
Game Time: 4:00 P.M. PT
Location: Albertsons Stadium, Boise, ID
TV: ESPN
This is a more low key matchup, but there are still a few interesting names on both sides of the ball that could be late round or UDFA options. For Colorado State, guard Fred Zerblis is the most notable name. He stands 6’2 and weighs 305 pounds. SI.com offered this:
Zerblis earned second-team All-America honors from Pro Football Focus as a steady interior presence on a line that allowed just 13 sacks all year. He'll be following in the footsteps of recent Rams draft picks Ty Sambrailo (Broncos) and Weston Richburg (Giants) if he sticks inside at the next level.
For Colorado State, inside linebacker Kevin Davis could get some ink. He stands 6’2, 235 pounds, and leads the team with 101 tackles this season. He has three sacks, 9.5 tackles for a loss, and four forced fumbles.
If you want to watch the quarterbacks, CSU QB Nick Stevens will be the guy to watch. His regular season included a 65.2 completion percentage, 1,488 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. His passing totals took a hit from last year, although his completion percentage improved from 60.7 percent.
