Good morning everyone. Not a whole lot is going on with the San Francisco 49ers right now. We’re well into the worst, longest part of the NFL offseason and football is but a distant prayer at this stage. Today, we’ve got player rankings (with rookies notably higher than most of the team which I can kind of understand ... which is a little sad) and the annual “this is the year Quinton Patton can step up” article.
I don’t think this is the year Patton will step up. I don’t think he has what it takes at this stage and I think he’s been given more than enough opportunities. I’ve held onto my fair share of wide receivers well past their sell-by date (remember Dominique Zeigler?) but I’m calling it on Patton. He’s not that good.
Or maybe I’m a big dumb idiot and Patton will be great. Both options are equally likely, as far as I’m concerned. Onto your links for the day.
