2013 - 2016 NFL Draft Data

I tried to post this a month or so ago but the formatting was screwy. Since then, we have had roster cuts down to the 53 man Week 1 rosters, and we have Week 1 starting lineups announced.

I've updated the status of draft picks as of the 53 man roster cuts and used both the ESPN's depth charts and each NFL team's listed starting rosters for the Starter info.

Here's some relative data for the past 4 NFL drafts (2013 - 2016):

Most Picks - SF (44), BAL (39), SEA (37), NE (37), MIN (36), CLE (36), OAK (35), GB (34), MIA (34)

Fewest Picks - CAR (22), SD (24), NO (25), TB (26), NYG (26), IND (28), BUF (28), AZ (29), ATL (29), CHI (29)

Most Active Roster - SF (24), GB (24), DET (23), LA (23), KC (23), CLE (22), MIA (22), DEN (22), OAK (22), BAL (22), CIN (22)

Fewest Picks Cut - SD (4), JAX (6), GB (6), AZ (6), CAR (6), BUF (7), CHI (7), NYG (7), DET (7)

Fewest Active Roster - NO (13), BUF (14), IND (14), PHI (15), CAR (16), SEA (16), ATL (17), NYJ (17), PIT (17)

Most Picks Cut - SEA (17), NE (17), TEN (14), NYJ (13), IND (12), MIN (12), PIT (12), DAL (12), SF (12), DEN (12)

Most Starters - (count equals any past starters and current Week 1 listed starters) - SF (17), GB (13), DET (12), LA (11), ATL (11), CAR (11), TEN (11), CLE (11)

Best Starter % (percent = number of total starters divided by total # of draft picks) - CAR (50%), SF (39%), TB (38%), GB (38%), ATL (38%), DET (38%), NYG (35%), AZ (34%), LA (34%), TEN (33%)

Fewest Starters - SEA (4), CIN (4), IND (5), PHI (5), NO (5), DAL (5), DEN (5), BUF (6), SD (6), KC (6), JAX (6)

Worst Starter % - SEA (11%), CIN (12%), DAL (15%), PHI (17%), DEN (17%), IND (18%), KC (19%), JAX (19%), NO (20%), PIT (21%), BUF (21%)

What to make of it? Seems that SF is not so bad relative to the rest of the NFL. CAR has done well for itself with a high number of hits on its few picks. SEA has hit a rough patch with a low number of hits, despite near the tops in total number of picks (this will hurt them starting this season), and NE's reputation for drafting well is under pressure, tied with SEA for most picks cut.
