Good morning everyone. So a new general manager vacancy was created on Saturday when the Indianapolis Colts elected to part ways with Ryan Grigson. This is bad news for the San Francisco 49ers, or at least it could be. If I’m a potential general manager candidate, and nothing about the Grigson departure sounds particularly concerning, then I want the Colts job a thousand times over the 49ers job.
Andrew Luck is Andrew Luck. Jed York is Jed York. Any general manager candidate with half a brain would choose the Colts over the 49ers. Will it actually come down to that? I have no idea and I actually doubt it given how many candidates have already said no to the 49ers. If any of those guys end up going to the Colts though, boy that sure is going to say something strong about Jed and Paraag Marathe, wouldn’t it?
