We're back for another playoff game. We like that. Last week was a sort of general excitement about getting into the playoffs and getting a home playoff game. Today is about something so much bigger. A win today and the 49ers head to Indianapolis with a chance to win their sixth Super Bowl. I don't think I need to say much else.

Well, here we are. Five years of Niners Nation and it's finally playoff time. I don't think much else has to be said. I'll be around to get in-game threads up and James will have the first couple of recap posts. I'll be tweeting throughout the game from @ninersnation, so hit me up if you're on twitter during the game. Time to take care of business.

And so we come to the end of the 2011 NFL regular season. Thankfully for the 49ers, the season does not end today. However, today is a huge game for the team as they look to lock down the number two seed and a much needed first round bye. The 49ers are sizable favorites over the Rams, but the injury situation will make this game at least a little more interesting. Hopefully the 49ers can grab an early lead, build it up big and give some of their starters some rest time in the second half.

The 49ers can move one step closer to the number two seed as they travel up to Seattle to face the Seahawks. Their division rivals will not make it easy on them as they are still in their own hunt for an NFC wild card berth. I think It should make for a really interesting matchup as both teams are playing some solid football right now. Of course, I wouldn't mind seeing the 49ers run up a big lead early and cruise to victory in a truly dull affair!

The 49ers get a second chance on the national stage as they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. The Stick should be rocking tonight as the 49ers look to further establish their credentials. This is the fourth time two teams have squared off on Monday Night Football with 10+ wins and a .750 or better winning percentage. All three previous times, the 49ers were involved and the 49ers won. Let's make it four!

Fooch's Note: My Internet could be limited during the game, so I have scheduled some new threads over the next few hours in case I can't get to a computer. The next thread will post at 6:20. The third thread will post at 7:15. The final in-game thread will post at 8:05. Depending on how things play out, the plan is for a recap thread at 9:00pm. It likely won't have recap details, but rather will be a place-holder until I get a recap written.

The 49ers head on the road to face a divisional rival in the Arizona Cardinals. There really is nothing complicated about this game. The 49ers are favorites, the 49ers should win, the 49ers need to win. It really is quite straightforward. Just gotta take care of business, plain and simple.

The 49ers return home today to face their long-time divisional rival, the St. Louis Rams and it is a big game for the 49ers. After their hot start, they have put themselves in a position to clinch the NFC West today. It would be their first division title and playoff berth since 2002. While it does not cap what has been a great year, it is a huge step towards the ultimate goal in February. Time to take care of business.

The San Francisco 49ers make their national debut on Thanksgiving as travel to face the Baltimore Ravens. The 49ers are in a good position heading into the stretch run of the NFL season, but a road win against the Ravens would further solidify the position immensely. This is a chance to make yet another statement to the rest of the league. I think most everybody knows the 49ers are for real, but it's kind of nice to reinforce that week in and week out. Time to take care of business.

The 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals in their first divisional game since their opener against the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers are ten-point favorites and wouldn't mind making a statement against their NFC West rivals. The 49ers have won the games they're "supposed to win" this season and it would be nice to continue that trend against the Cardinals. Arizona is playing some solid football lately so this could prove to be a dogfight for the 49ers. Time to take care of business.

The 49ers host the New York Giants in a game that really could be a statement for both teams. The 49ers are 7-1 and getting a lot more respect, but I think a win over the New York Giants would bring a certain cache for the team given the big East Coast market nature of the Giants. While I do like a bit of respect for the 49ers, I also know that all that really matters is continuing to get wins. Nothing else matters.
