100 in 100: Derrick Morgan (100 of 100)

0 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT... 2010 NFL PRE-DRAFT COVERAGE BEGINS AT 6AM PST TOMORROW MORNING.

Author's note: First and foremost, I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone who read and participated in these articles. It was definitely a pleasure and at times a lot of fun to write. So here you have it, your 100th player in 100 days.

Fooch's Note: I'm putting together a list of all 100 of these posts in alphabetical order. I'll be posting it tomorrow.

Derrick Morgan played nearly every single game in the last three years. He has decided to forego his senior year to enter the NFL Draft this year and is being considered as a potential top-ten pick. He has had an outstanding college career but his best year came in this past season where he racked up 12 sacks and forced 2 fumbles.

As Morgan entered his first season as a true freshman, little did he know he would start 12 out of the 13 games that year. He struggled adjusting a bit but eventually toward the end of the year he settled in. When he entered his sophomore year the coaches had a bit higher expectations and Morgan probably met them as he had 6 sacks and 51 tackles. And as I mention above, his junior year was excellent.

Derrick Morgan has a great opportunity to show what he is made of. Once he gets to the NFL the challenges are going to get much more steep.

Below, we will take a look at some highlights and stats. After that I will provide my final projection.

100 in 100: Perrish Cox (99 of 100)

JUST 1 MORE DAY UNTIL THE DRAFT (TOMORROW), AND THEN COVERAGE BEGINS AT 8AM ON THURSDAY...

There aren't a ton of options for the cornerback position outside if the middle rounds. Perrish Cox however could end up being a gem somewhere after the third (potentially). He didn't exactly put up astonishing numbers at Oklahoma State but he did show flashes of being a future capable starter in the NFL someday. Initially I think Cox will start out as a nickel corner and situational player. But we'll get more in to that further down in the piece.

As big as Cox is as a Corner, he steered clear of contact most of the time. He was more known as a ball-hawking corner than anything else. He ended his career with 10 interceptions for the Cowboys but not very many tackles. A majority of the time, he spent covering the opposing teams best wide receivers and did an outstanding job in most cases.

Cox had a very good week of practice leading up to the Senior Bowl in January. He did not do a whole lot in the game but I believe a lot of the scouts that were in attendance at the practices left impressed with Perrish Cox's ability. Cox is one of the players that could jump up on the draft boards or fall back some because of concerns with his physicality... or lack there of.

Below, we'll look a little more in-depth at the young talented former Oklahoma State Corner.

100 in 100: Stafon Johnson (98 of 100)

2 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT...

Although Stafon Johnson may not be drafted, I thought he was definitely a player worth covering. He has a very compelling story.

Earlier this year, Stafon Johnson was sidelined with a very serious, life-threatening injury which occured while working out in the gym. On September 28th, 2009, Johnson's life would change forever when the 275 LB barbell fell on his throat crushing a good portion of his vocal cord and adams apple. Johnson was rushed to the hospital as he was bleeding profusely from his mouth and nose. Had this happened to an average joe, it more than likely would have claimed their life. However, being that there was so much muscle in Johnson's neck, it actually prevented the injury from being worse (or so the doctor's claimed). Johnson was able to rehabilitate and make it back in time for the 2010 Senior Bowl which in and of itself was a major accomplishment.

Johnson had a decent career in college, but fellow running back and teammate Joe McKnight stole most of the spotlight. Before the injury Johnson was considered to be a late round draft choice. Now it is uncertain if he will even be drafted at all. It is amazing that he is able to be in the position he is at this point.

The USC running back never went over 1000 yards in a season, but did have some significantly good games where he rushed for over 100 yards. He finished his career at USC with 1,552 career rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. He also did returns often when he was healthy and did fairly well at them.

With all things considered, you kind of have to be rooting for a guy like Stafon Johnson, I know I am.

Below, we will take a look at some highlights and stats and I will povide my final thoughts on Johnson.

100 in 100: Vladimir Ducasse (97 of 100)

3 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT...

Vladimir Ducasse was born in third world Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He's only lived in the United States for seven years but has accomplished a lot in just a short amount of time. He attended Stamford High School in Connecticut. Coming out of high school Ducasse was considered a top notch prospect and was being recruited by some of the larger name schools. However, Ducasse got the best feeling from the University of Massachusetts and made the decision to attend there.

Sometimes in college football players have to make transitions from one position to another because of their skill-sets. Vladimir Ducasse played the tackle position his junior year and gave up only six sacks, the least in the Colonial Athletic Association for that season. However, with his skill-set, he will more than likely make the transition to be a guard in the NFL; although there is a relevant percentage that we could see him playing tackle someday in the near future.

Ducasse struggled a bit here and there the week leading up to the 2010 Senior Bowl, and didn't have the best of games. But the game took place just after a major earthquake took the lives of many in his hometown of Port-au-Prince, where he had many relatives living.

Overall, Ducasse is a relatively good prospect. He is a bit rough around the edges and will have to work diligently at the next level to be a success.

Below, we will look at some highlights and I'll provide a projection on where I think Ducasse will end up being selected.

100 in 100: Myron Rolle (96 of 100)

4 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE DAY OF THE DRAFT...

High ambitions, will, fate, and determination are all very accurate words to describe that of a Myron Rolle. Rolle is one of the more interesting prospects coming out in this years draft. Most pundits have accredited high praise of Rolle and had nothing but the kindest of words about the NFL prospect off the field. He definitely seems like a guy who teams won't have to worry about character with.

Rolle has aspired to accomplish careers both in the National Football League as well as in the medical field. He has accomplished so much in such a short amount of time that if football was not an option, he'd be set up just fine. Some of what has knocked Rolle's stock down some was that he decided to postpone playing in the NFL to study at the elite University of Oxford. The year off was surely bitter-sweet for Rolle as he got to do something not many folks get to do by attending the prestigious University but at the same time lost some of the attention he had before deciding to do so. The Florida State safety was not only the fourth student in school history to receive the Rhodes Scholarship, but was the very first Florida State football player to accomplish that feat. It is without doubt that Rolle's intelligence has translated on to the football field and will continue to.

Safeties come in all shapes and forms, and all have different skill-sets. Rolle's strengths have not exactly been of the ball-hawking variety but more on the side of coming up and hitting people right in the mouth. He has been very solid against the run in the three years he played at Florida State. One of the few things Rolle has going for him is his size. He definitely could be characterized as your prototypical strong safety... or at least what you'd hope for in that regard.

Rolle's best year statistically came in his freshman season. ESPN had him ranked as the number one overall prospect coming out of High School and he lived up to expectations through his first season in college. Since then, Rolle has been quite solid but hasn't done much outside of his scholastic accomplishments to set himself apart from his competition at his specific position. This will leave him to be drafted in the later rounds more than likely. However, as many former NFL players will tell you, it's not what where you get drafted, but what you do after you get drafted. Myron Rolle has much void to fill if he wants to leave a permanent mark on the NFL when he decides to leave the game; particularly if he doesn't want the game to leave him first. It's a dog eat dog business figuratively speaking.

Below, as you're used to, I will provide highlights, stats, and my final thoughts on this young talented athlete.

100 in 100: Anthony Davis (95 of 100)

Davis_ubtc0547_medium5 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT...

Many people have speculated both positive and negative things about how well Anthony Davis will be at the next level. The biggest question mark that has been noted is his lack of work ethic. Sometimes players are just lazy and things like that cannot or will not be coached (See: JaMarcus Russell). Plenty of people will disagree saying that if he lands in the right situation, he can be coached to work hard to be a good professional. While there is truth to both those statements, it will solely be up to Davis to show the world what he is made of.

As we move closer to the draft, Davis' stock has slipped just a bit. Some of the more recent mocks I have seen have Davis being selected anywhere from the Giants all the way down to the Cowboys with the 27th Pick. There is some chance that he could end up with the 49ers with the 17th Pick if he slips past the Giants at 15. He could be an immediate starter at right tackle coming in to the league. So far, Davis has worked out and met with a few teams; the 49ers are included as one of them.

Overall, it is hard to predict how someone's game will translate in to the pro's. On one side, you have your "sure-thing" players that bust, and on the other side you have your "sure-thing busts" that turn out to be stars. The NFL Draft is one of the biggest guessing games in any pro sport. My guess is that Anthony Davis won't be anything more than an average tackle at best in the NFL. I am sure there are opinions that differ from that, but he struggled against some of the better competition of the Big East at times in the years leading up to this.

Below, we will take a look at some of Davis' highlights and then I will provide a projection on where I think he could end up in this years draft.

100 in 100: Jarrett Brown (94 of 100)

6 DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT...

Jarrett Brown is one of those players that had to wait in line behind another quarterback to get his shot. It happens a lot in college football; see: Tom Brady. Brown patiently waited behind former Mountaniers Quarterback Pat White for three years. He finally got his shot to be the starter this year after White was drafted by the Dolphins last year. Brown did get to play garbage time each year from 2006-2008 but not enough to get a decent gauging of how good he was going to be.

2009 was an up and down season for Brown as he hit a rough patch in the middle portion of the season. For a guy with one of the bigger arms in college football last year, he was able to remain fairly accurate. There were times where he had trouble getting the ball in the endzone while in the redzone but some of that can be attributed to West Virginia's tendency to run the ball when they got inside the 20.

Brown will more than likely be drafted to be a number two, or possibly even a number three on a depth chart of the team that drafts him. However, just because he will be drafted as such, coaches and teammates will quickly take notice of the high ceiling there is with him. There is a lot of upside to consider with his big arm, accuracy, elusiveness, and how intelligently he plays the game. He makes quick reads and reacts, Brown plays with an evident passion for the game.

Below, we will look at some video, stats, and of course the infamous projection of where I believe Brown will be drafted.

100 in 100: Major Wright (93 of 100)

7 DAYS (1 WEEK) LEFT UNTIL THE DRAFT...

Major Wright is a free safety that played for the Florida Gators this past season. He was one of many reasons that helped fellow teammate cornerback Joe Haden's stock be is high as it currently is. Wright is roughly the same size as Texas Free Safety Earl Thomas.

The Florida Gator Free Safety had a fairly successful college career and started on the 2008 National Championship Team. As a freshman in 2007, Wright was a starter for 7 of the 13 games. That year he had 67 tackles and was able to knock the ball loose 4 times with explosive hits. The following year in 2008, Wright was named the full-time starter. He had an excellent season with 55 tackles and 4 interceptions; he took one of the four back to the house. 2009, Wright'a production fell off some and we saw a few more of the other guys getting playing time like Ahmad Black and Will Hill.

Wright has very good instinct to the ball no matter if it's a run or a pass. Right now, his stock is not very high, or as high as it would have been had he had a better '09 Season but that could just make for a nice steal for whoever drafts him.

Below, we'll look at Wrights stats, highlights, and I'll provide a projection.
