Recap: Nebraska vs. Kansas

Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - Quarterback Joe Ganz completed 28-of-37 passing for 324 yards and three scores to give the Nebraska Cornhuskers a 45-35 win over the Kansas Jayhawks in a Big 12 Conference showdown at Memorial Stadium.
Nate Swift was Ganz's favorite target, hauling in seven passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. The Cornhuskers (6-4, 3-3 Big 12) ground attack was led by Roy Helu who carried the ball 16 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
Kansas (6-4, 3-3) was paced by signal-caller Todd Reesing who completed 15- of-30 pass attempts for 304 yards and three touchdowns. Reesing, who was sacked five times and intercepted once, also added a score on the ground. Dezmon Briscoe led the Jayhawks receiving corps, making six catches for 176 yards and a touchdown.
Nebraska took the first lead of the game late in the first quarter when Mike McNeill caught a four-yard touchdown pass from Marlon Lucky.
Kansas answered on its ensuing drive when Reesing threw a 28-yard touchdown strike to Kerry Meier to tie the game at 7-7.
The Jayhawks took a 14-7 lead late in the first half when Reesing hooked up with Briscoe for a 53-yard touchdown pass.
Nebraska responded immediately however, as Ganz found Chris Brooks from 25 yards out to make it a 14-14 game at the break.
The Huskers opened up the second half scoring with a 35-yard field goal from Alex Henery.
Kansas continued to roll as Reesing threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Dexton Fields late in the frame to make it a 21-17 contest.
Nebraska regained the lead in the final seconds of the third quarter, with a 10-yard touchdown run by Helu.
Less than a minute later the Cornhuskers were back on the board as Helu ripped off a 52-yard touchdown run to give Nebraska a 31-21 advantage.
The Jayhawks cut into the deficit minutes later as Jake Sharp made his way into the end zone from seven yards out to make it a 31-28 game.
Nebraska responded immediately as Ganz hit Ndamukong Suh for a two-yard score to push the lead back to 10 points.
The Cornhuskers extended their lead minutes later, when Ganz delivered a 14- yard touchdown strike to Swift.
Kansas added a late score on a 14-yard run by Reesing, but it would not be enough as the Huskers managed to hold on for the 10-point win.
