Week 8 Prediction Games

Well, my prediction score is going down the toilet, but that won't stop me from picking the games.  I realize the 49ers aren't expected to win every game, but I still enjoy picking them.  Of course, if this was for money things might be a little different.

New Orleans @ San Francisco - Sunday, 1:15pm PST/4:15pm EST

Green Bay @ Denver - MNF

Washington @ New England - Sunday, 1:15pm PST/4:15pm EST

Houston @ San Diego - Sunday, 1:05pm PST/4:05pm EST

Detroit @ Chicago - Sunday, 10:00am PST/1:00pm EST

Indianapolis @ Carolina - Sunday, 10:00am PST/1:00pm EST

No Sunday night game
There isn't a Sunday night game this week.  Not sure why.  I'm not sure why, maybe because of the World Series?

New Orleans 23 @ San Francisco 16 - remember that game in 1980 when the 49ers came back from a 35-7 deficit? That won't happen again.

Green Bay 30 @ Denver 24 - remember that snowy game in Denver on MNF where the Packers fumbled the first two plays and the Broncos returned them both for TDs? That won't happen again either.

Washington 17 @ New England 45 - have these two franchises ever played a memorable game against each other? This one won't be it.

Houston 21 @ San Diego 30 - The roof. The roof. The roof is on fire!

Detroit 17 @ Chicago 20- John Kitna said the Lions would win 10 games this year. This one won't be one of them.

Indianapolis 35 @ Carolina 17 - Manning vs. Carr. Battle of former #1 picks. One of them will show you why.

Manning vs. Vinny T.
I'm "betting" on this being a blow out and way beyond the IND -7.0 line.

by methodrampage on Oct 26, 2007 10:54 AM PDT up reply actions

I guess Vinny is starting
he was still a #1 pick. same result. and yeah. The Colts will cover.

Time to make the picks!
New Orleans @ San Francisco: 14-23

Green Bay @ Denver: 21-28

Washington @ New England: 6-27

Houston @ San Diego: 30-17

Detroit @ Chicago: 10-21

Indianapolis @ Carolina: 42-13

So call it a stumble for the Pats. I think the Broncos are finally hitting their groove. I never believed they were as bad as they were playing, and I think they're getting it going. Also, the Packers are still overrated. And if I'm going upset "in" San Diego, I might as well do it up big! Lastly, Manning tees off in a "warmup" game against Carolina. That's my picks, and I'm sticking to them.

Eesh
The game I heard will, in fact, be in San Diego. Those fans are going to be insane for a day.

I'm sticking with the pick out of spite for Norv Turner (which is mostly why I made it to begin with), but I sure don't feel so good about it anymore...

New Orleans 17 - San Francisco 21 (Niners 21-17)

Green Bay 20 - Denver 23 - (Broncos 23-20)

Washington 20 - New England 31 (Pats 31-20)

Houston 17 - San Diego 30 (Chargers 30-17)

Detroit 24 - Chicago 20 (Lions 24-20)

Indianapolis 27 - Carolina 20 (Colts 27-20)

Two upsets (Niners and Lions).  Two teams winning n the road (Detroit and Indy).  Pats don't cover the spread (for the first time all season).  The Broncos win a squeaker (game winning FG at the end?).  Niners finally get on the schnide and win one.  I need points baby!
