HD vs. regular tv

I spent Thanksgiving at my dad's place watching Turkey Day NFL and college football on a 52" HDTV. I'm back to my 26" of NON-HD excitement. I don't think the 49ers deserve to be seen in HDTV.

I don't like the college system of each team getting the ball on the opponent's 25, but the NFL should implement a system, which is identical to how it is now, except that each team is guaranteed one possession and after that, it's sudden death.

I liked it too

I was surprised how much I liked it. The very very end was somehow distractingly disjointed, and there was one single pet peeve I had in the middle of the movie that bothered me, but everything else was much better than I was expecting. What a pleasant surprise. I may even buy it.

I did!

I originally went through all of the Miyazaki movies through my Blockbuster mail rental thing. After watching "Whisper of the Heart" and "Howl's Moving Castle," I had to buy them both to add to "Castle in the Sky," "Spirited Away," and "Kiki's Delivery Service." I've still got to eventually get "My Neighbor Totoro," "Princess Mononoke," and "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds."

Actually

Even with the turnovers that's the worst I've seen the defense play all year. Soft coverages. Shitty penalties. Repeatedly burned by cigarettes in the ass on deep routes. Missed assignments.

Willis

I think Willis catching a receiver from behind and saving the game will be a crucial highlight for his Defensive Rookie of the Year chances. You pretty much NEVER, EVER, EVER see a linebacker do that in this league. We've got to lock this kid up for a long time, he's going to be amazing. A play like that is about more than being in great shape, it's about determination and heart. Gotta love it.
