Niners reportedly close to acquiring Darrell Jackson

[EDITOR'S NOTE] - 9:25PM - If this is true it would be huge...DJax for a 4th rounder? I can't believe the Seahawks would deal him within the division for JUST a 4th round! We'll keep updating this

ESPN is reporting that the Niners are close to getting Darrell Jackson from the Seahawks for one of their 4th round picks.

DJack for a 4th round pick!  I like this a lot.  Jackson, Lelie, Battle, and perhaps Rice or Smith from the 2nd round.  Suddenly our receiving core looks a lot better, especially with Vernon Davis.

thats a good deal
hey first post here (been visiting for a while, finally made an account)

I think Darrell provides a solid WR that wont do too much, but he is reliable and you know what he can do.

The niners seem to have alot of good Wr's, just not any great ones.  Darrell will be our number 1, with lelie 2, battle 3 and i have to think brandon williams will be 4, but have a chance to move up, he has alot of potential with his speed and can be a valuable 3rd round pickup from last year.

a 4th round pick is sort of a crap-shoot, and to get a solid, established WR for one is a no brainer.

hopefully this is made official soon and we can welcome Jackson to the niners (i'm sure alex smith will)

too good to be true?
i think this would be a tremendously good deal for the 49ers. its almost sounds to good to be true. i'll believe it when the deal is final...

that's what I'm saying
a 4th rounder?  that's it?  stranger things have happened
Bring back the classic Uni's!

yea...
I think this deal makes ZERO sense on their end.  You'd think they could get more for him!

That being said, if this goes through I would be VERY PLEASED.

D-Jax
This will be great if made official.  I love how Djax play the game.  He is very crafty and could provide leadership to our young recieving core.  Doesn't it feel good to love a team who is doing every thing right? pass the freaking physical Djax.

I have trouble believing this
is Holmgren stupid? Why trade within the division. that doesn't make sense.

Also, that makes a trade up to the late 2nd round to get Meachem unlikely.

Bring back Eddie D.

wow
I had been hoping for this all offseason but never though possible with all the intra-division crap. But apparently it's happening, and it couldn't have been a worse deal for the Hawks. They could afford to trade him, sure. BUt to the Niners, for just a 4th round pick?! Wow. If this is true i will shit myself

suspicious
could there be more to this trade?  nothing official has been said by either team, just some reporting by ESPN.  dunno, a 4th rounder for their most productive receiver just seems suspicious.  i think djax is worth a 3rd at most, so the Niners are getting good value, but... could they be moving disgruntled Smiley but don't want to announce until djax passes his physical?  i hate the idea of losing Smiley this way, but it doesn't sound like they will re-sign him after next year anyway.

wow
this trade would be awesome, but Seattle's first pick is #55 so i don't know why they wouldn't go for 1...

Great if it happens
This is a great pick up for us, but I am leary of why SEA would do this. Unless they are just fed up with DJax and its time for a change of scenery. However, great move for us if everything pans out. Really solidifies a need without sacrificing anything major from our draft.
