Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Chicago Stoolies, Welcome to the NFL

After some quality suggestions from everybody, I've decided to go with Chicago Stoolies.  I understand that this is something I should probably let go of and move past, but that would be too easy and the nice way out.  Whether the 49ers screwed up or not, whiny stool pigeons are not welcome in this man's NFL.  Additionally, big thanks go out to wjackalope, who once again hit a homerun with our new Chicago Stoolies logo.  They may not be an expansion team, but we welcome them to the NFL nonetheless.

I spend about a half hour at work working.
Here's to hoping Albert Hanyesworth stomps on Alex Smith's head.

Am I the only one who could do w/o the droppings?

bird droppings
I personally like it as is...If wjackalope wants to put something together to compare it with I'm certainly down with that.  I think this is just straight forward while still being subtle enough...

It's already a "stool" pidgeon. Including actual stool on top of that might be pressing the issue.

Bears website
Just for the hell of it, I posted this link over at the ChicagoBears.com messageboard.  I'm sure they'll give me crap about it, but it's entertaining nonetheless.

Hey, I like it.
I'm a Bears fan from Illinois.  It's an "inside joke" on our Bears messageboard, that the Soldier Field pigeons are a source of good luck.  When they strut their stuff on the field - we win.  When they don't show up - we lose.

Hence, I love the logo.  Thanks for creating it for us :-)

69ers?
That and comments about San Francisco and gays seem to be the staple of other teams' fans that don't know what they're talking about.

It's not about how minor it is
We all likely admit that we're not losing very much in this. The injustice is that we're being punished at all for two missed phone calls to an agent who represents players on the team.

It's complete BS. There is absolutely no evidence to support 1) the Bears claim of 49er tampering or 2) the punishment for the unsubstantiated crime.

youll show us how to play football?
perhaps you would like to see our super bowl trophies?  we have 5 times as many of them as you.

Please
Joe Montana doesn't play anymore, nor does Jerry Rice or Steve Young.

Bill Walsh, rest in peace, is gone too.

It will be a long time before you get back there again.

thats true. and maybe next time they do, lach can pick off alex "i suck" smith with one hand will getting pushed back. and rex will light there shitty defense up again

by illini49er on Mar 29, 2008 1:47 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm confused
As mentioned previously, Bears fans are talking a lot of smack for being a 7-9 team with an equally poor QB situation.

lol
last time i checked, rex doesnt have a noodle arm, hes got a cannon and hes was more accurate then alex smith. orton on a bad day is better then smith. you guys are better off startin jt o'sullivan lmfao. he couldnt even make our team

by Sweetness34 on Mar 28, 2008 12:14 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not so fast
I'm not an astute observer of the Stoolies. However, I did notice a little qb controversy in Chicago last year, no?  If Rex is so darn good, then it seems to me he would have be the clear cut starter all season.

by jfainsf49 on Mar 28, 2008 12:18 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

rex couldnt
make our team. and patrick willis on a bad day would still knock urlacher senseless.

lol
our qb situation looks like a hof situation compared to your bums

rex will start
im a huge orton fan, but rex is ganna get the job, hes the training camp king. always looks like a hofer in TC. and if we get a line hes ganna stay the starter.

Right...
You seem to already be on the short end of that stick, so I wouldn't worry too much.  69ers?  Man, that was clever.  Combined with your ability to spell and reply to the actual comment you're referring to, and we've got a winner!
We are not who I thought we were.

Solid thoughts?
Wow, I have enjoyed the comments from the readers in Chicago (sarcasm intended) and I have noticed their ability to point out the obvious and overemphasis.  After hearing about gay jokes and the abundant gay population I just have to say, does the polish sector of Chicago (ie, all of it) require a return joke.  I would but then I might confuse them and that would require more beer to fix their overstimulated brains.
Sadly, I used to think that Chicago wasn't a bad team, now I am just beginning to intensely dislike them.  Here's hoping that Lovie Smith finds a better job in the future once the Bears return to mediocrity (where they currently are) and he can build a good team back into contention.

That's like the laziest flame of all the flames possible. Also, it's the dumbest.

Beginning?
This is re-birth.

You must be too young to remember 1984 NFC Championship game when Walsh put in some offensive lineman to run the ball late in the game.  Ditka made a point about that after the game mentioning that he had, if anything else, a long memory.

So the next year when the Bears pounded the Niners, Da Coach put in William "The Refridgerator" Perry in to run the ball, thus starting the whole "Fridge" craze.

Then after trading games over the next couple of years, the 1988 NFC Championship game came along IN CHICAGO!!!  The Bears had already beaten the 9ers that year and this time it was going to be BEAR WEATHER!!!!  It had to be one of the coldest games ever.  Probably @ 0.  There was no way those 'soft pansies' from San Francisco (I'm not calling them that, that was merely what we were saying in Chicago) could come and win in BEAR WEATHER.  Then Montana throws 4 tds and whips the shit out of our Bears.

By the early 90's the niners weare still a top team but the Bears were fading fast so the rivalry cooled.

Granted, the 9ers were a dynasty and the team of the 80's but the Bears were great during that stretch too.  It would say it was like the Cowboys/9ers fued of the 90's.  Both great teams, both won Super Bowls, but the Cowboys were the better of that era.

One more thing
for the record the 88 Championship game was 28 - 3.  That doesn't sound all that bad, but it was a complete an utter ass-whipping.  The score does not do that game justice.

'88
I was 8 years old, but I actually kind of remember that game.  Good times were had that day.  My 4th grade teacher was a Bengals fan, so going on to beat them was quite nice.

49ers arguing with Bears huh?

You really have to appreciate the humor in two crappy teams arguing over who is crappier.   Are we taking bets on who will rank 31st vs. 32nd in overall offense next year?
