Can Brandon Marshall Stay Out Of Trouble?
What are we to do with Brandon Marshall. How many times can we simply turn the other cheek, to explain things away with excuses like "He wasn't charged, so..."? We all know Marshall is extremely talented, we know he has a tremendous upside. One other thing we know, it is safe to say, is Marshall has trouble keeping himself away from law enforcement. Marshall is walking a fine-line when it comes to his behavior off the field.
The latest incident continues a long, disturbing trend for Marshall. Since entering the NFL in 2006, Marshall has been involved in 6 separate instances in which the police were called or notified. Add in the "horseplay" that injured his arm, and there is a pattern of behavior that should concern us and the team. For his part, Marshall has said that he was ready to grow up and take his profession seriously, "My goal for the summer is to be clean- cut and don't get into trouble," Marshall said March 27. "But it's kind of tough when I put myself in that environment. So I've got to take myself out of those environments and just hang around the right people."
This latest occurrence, which saw Marshall arrested on March 6, involved his girlfriend and an alleged physical altercation in Atlanta. Marshall was there training with Broncos QB Jay Cutler at the time. He was booked into Fulton County Jail and released on $1000 bond. The case was turned over to the County Solicitor Generals office on June 4th and official charges could be pending. With a pending court date this fall for a DUI charge, Marshall could be looking at a suspension by the NFL under the Player Conduct Policy.

The Greatest Broncos Of All Time....By The Numbers - #7 John Elway
The Candidates -
John Elway QB 1983-98
Craig Morton QB 1977-82
Mickey Slaughter QB 1963-66
With all do respect to Craig Morton, who himself was enshrined in the Broncos' Ring of Fame in 1988, and was the first quarterback to lead the Broncos to the Super Bowl, John Elway is perhaps the Greatest Bronco to wear any number, period. Can the #7 ever be talked about again, concerning the Denver Broncos, without the name John Elway coming next?
It was Elway that lead the Broncos to 5 Super Bowls, and those 5 starts are the most for any quarterback, ever. It was Elway that finally got the Broncos their first World Title, and Elway that was MVP of the last game he ever played, Super Bowl XXXIII.

Broncos' Consistency Speaks For Itself; Hall of Fame Still Reeks
So, I was thumbing through the Broncos 2008 Media Guide and came across an interesting bit of information, right on the first page. It was a picture of the 2 Vince Lombardi Trophies, along with 6 AFC Conference Championship trophies, and below were several statistics that showed how the Broncos have fared since 1970, when the AFL and NFL officially merged. That is 38 years of history heading into this season.

The Greatest Broncos Of All Time....By The Numbers - #6
The Candidates -
Jay Cutler, QB -- 2006-Present
Jason Baker, P/K -- 2004
Joe Nedney, K -- 2000
Bubby Brister, QB -- 1997-99
Ralph Giacommaro, P -- 1987
Enough with the kickers and punters already! Even if one of the three listed above had spent more than a season each with the Broncos I would have excluded them on principle alone. With Baker, Nedney and Ralphie out of the way I was left with a tougher than expected decision. Of course, I am never one to sit on the fence and after thinking about it over a Coke Zero I came to a decision.
