With the end of the college football regular season, there is not a whole heck of a lot to discuss on a Saturday. So for now, feel free to check out my answers to Gonzo's questions over at Daily Norseman. While a lot of it is a rehash of the same issues, my favorite question was which Viking aside from Adrian Peterson would I like to see on the 49ers. I suggested it between Steve Hutchinson and Sidney Rice. Going into the year we all thought Larry Allen would be a rock at left guard and that is not the case. On the other hand, a guy like Rice would be nice to help rebuild the wide receiving corp with some youth and a guy who doesn't have DJack's dropping issues. So who would you like from the Vikings?
Additionally, the Heisman Trophy is being handed out Saturday. Tim Tebow seems to be the likely winner. With his athleticism, does he become the running back version of Matt Jones? Matt Jones was the Arkansas quarterback who was converted to wide receiver. He's struggled but shown flashes of talent. How would you rank the final 4 in terms of likelihood of NFL success? After Darren McFadden (who seems the obvious NFL success) you've got Tebow, QB Chase Daniel from Missouri and QB Colt Brennan from Hawaii. Tebow is a big fat question mark for NFL success. Colt Brennan is a guy I'd say won't likely be successful, but Jim Druckenmiller and Giovanni Carmazzi say I've been wrong before. Chase Daniel has shown some great skills but I don't really know enough about him for now.
And of course, don't forget the cross-Atlantic clash between "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton. I'm going with Mayweather by decision.
