Golden Nuggets: Must Win

Good morning everyone, James here with your Nuggets. Today the Rams come to town and face off against the Niners, this match should be really important considering the 3-0 it would put the team at in the NFC West and 3-1 overall, ahead of the competition. I can smell the playoffs and I'm not thinking the Rams are going to get in the way of it. I know, it's early on but what can I say? I have high hopes, I want the prediction Jed York made upon hiring Mike Singletary as the new head coach to come true. We've got winners on this team and even though one of our best in HB Frank Gore is out I believe we have a reliable backup in Glen Coffee, or at least we'll see what we have in the kid today. I'll be at the 'Stick rooting for the Niners so I wont be here for your game threads--so I'll leave you with the simple, eloquent GO NINERS!!!

QB Shaun Hill isn't going to be asked to do anything extra with Frank Gore being out--the gameplan remains the same with Coffee at the helm of the rushing attack. (PressDemocrat.com)

Moran Norris has the tools to be a more complete back--but he rarely uses them. This could be changing soon. (SFGate.com)

The 49ers need to beat the Rams today. A loss wouldn't necessarily mean the end of the season but I can't see taking anything positive from a loss against St. Louis. (SFGate.com)

Here's a couple notes for the game today, an "at a glance," if you will. (PressDemocrat.com)

A few changes that could (and probably need) to take place. I like the advocating of Jason Hill to be active instead of Micheal Spurlock--I think Hill is a good player who's proven himself enough to earn a chance. I also like the idea of HB Kory Sheets maybe getting some more work on returns in practice so he could possible earn himself a spot on the roster. (SFGate.com)

It's throwback jerseys all season for the 49ers--and I couldn't be happier. (SFGate.com)

Here's some interesting numbers and stats concerning both the 49ers and the Rams. Interesting stuff. (MercuryNews.com)

An interesting tidbit about the Rams safety and dating Mike Singletary's daughter. (SFGate.com)

OT Adam Snyder seems to hold the edge over fellow RT Tony Pashos for the starting role. (SacBee.com)
