2010 Pro Bowl Selection Show

Fooch's Note: I'm on my flight to Vegas but Virgin and Google are offering free wifi on all their flights until January 15.  Good times!  Anyways, the selection show is starting right now.

The NFL will be announcing the 2010 Pro Bowl teams today at 1pm 4pm on the NFL Network.  The teams are determined by a combination of fan, player and coach voting (1/3 value each).  At this point, Patrick Willis is the only 49er leading at his position.  Mike Sando posted the top 5 totals at each position on offense and defense.  The 49ers in the list include:

Frank Gore - 3rd among running backs, behind Adrian Peterson and Steven Jackson, but ahead of DeAngelo Williams and Michael Turner

Vernon Davis - 3rd among tight ends, behind Tony Gonzalez and Jeremy Shockey, but ahead of Jason Witten and Visanthe Shiancoe

It's not too surprising that Justin Smith and Aubrayo Franklin did not finish in the top 5 for their positions.  They are respected around the league, so let's hope the players and coaches provide them with the necessary support.

I'm heading down to Las Vegas for a week so I won't have the official selections up until later tonight.  In the meantime, feel free to discuss the selections here.
