Niners Nation has been on Twitter (@NinersNation) for several months now, but I don't think we've really done as much as we can with it. It's been nothing more than a glorified RSS feed prior to this past weekend. I know many of you don't have any involvement with Twitter and thus could care less. But for those who use Twitter, if you're not following Niners Nation, head on over and join the ever-growing crowd. I actually didn't even really learn until recently how to read messages and re-tweets involving me. I downloaded TweetDeck and plan on taking greater advantage of Twitter going forward. For those who've sent me messages in the past, my apologies for not responding. I definitely want to make it more interactive now.
For those who don't use Twitter, it allows for short 140 word comments. For example, if the 49ers interview another special teams coach, I'll probably tweet something briefly before posting the story at Niners Nation....or at least that's the plan. Twitter is basically just one more way for you to keep track of what's going on with the 49ers.
I also wanted to post this to see if any of you had any suggestions for informative people worth following for 49ers and football related information. I follow @MattMaiocco and @MattBarrows among others. Among 49ers players, I'm following @VernonDavis85, @jstaley74, @NateClements, @TakeoSpikes51, @DZeigler17, and @Freakyjean (Ricky Jean-Francois).
If anybody knows of other 49ers players, mention it in the comments. Same goes for any other twitter pages you might recommend. And if you ever feel like throwing out questions or story ideas, our Twitter page is a perfect opportunity to do that.
