Over the past year and a half we've had plenty of discussion about Mike Singletary and everything he brings to the table as head coach. There are numerous examples of what Singletary has brought to the team, but I'd imagine we can all agree that Vernon Davis is the best example.
As much as we can infer about Mike Singletary from his press conferences, we don't frequently get great insight into the man directly from the man. However, this we've had a chance to learn a whole heck of a lot more thanks to an interview Lowell Cohn conducted with Singletary. Whatever your thoughts are about Cohn's writing (I've certainly seen plenty of opinions here), his four-part interview provides a great deal of insight into the man behind the man.
Cohn's 4-part interview was posted over the course of this week, with part 4 coming today. It provides a great deal of detail about Singletary's childhood and how he became the man he is today. For now, here are links to the first three parts. As soon as part 4 is up at the Press Democrat's website I'll post a link. Normally I'd just post links in the Golden Nuggets, but this seemed like something especially worth pulling out into a separate post.
