The 49ers have their second primetime game of the regular season this week with a battle against the Philadelphia Eagles tonight on NBC's Sunday Night Football. While we sit and wait for the 49ers to continue their quest for victory number 1, there is plenty of other football to enjoy.
The morning action includes some intriguing matchups. Arguably the most interesting game sees the 3-0 Kansas City Chiefs traveling to Indianapolis to take on a Colts squad that was stunned by the Jaguars last week. The Chiefs have played exceedingly well but there are still some questions about them. They beat a 49ers squad that we all have complained about, a weak Browns team, and a Chargers squad that generally peaks late in the season. I'm not saying KC isn't as good as their record would indicate, but this Colts game could cement their status as a potential playoff team.
The other game I'm interesting in is Tampa Bay at Cincinnati. The Bengals are 2-2 and still trying to figure out their identity. The Bucs are 2-1 coming off their bye and are hoping they might just have a franchise QB in Josh Freeman. This is a big road battle for them. A win keeps them right in the thick of the early NFC South race. They might not finish in the thick of it, but this strong start would be quite the confidence builder.
We'll be back with our game thread this afternoon, but in the meantime, enjoy some football and don't forget to get your picks in for Week 5 of our prediction game.
