Golden Nuggets: Fandom Comes First

Morning everyone, it's gameday once again in 49erland. I'm scheduling the Nuggets out a bit early tonight (lately I've been on and doing them actively around 2:45 a.m., just fifteen minutes before they are posted) so I can wake up in time to go to the game and get some delicious tailgating fare down before I go into the stadium. I'm confident in this game, but I'm going to avoid making specific predictions at this point, because I'm obviously letting fan bias get to my head.

Either way, today should be a good day. I've noted in the past that I don't dislike the Raiders as much as I used to. Before, I was just a 49ers fan who hated the team across the bay, and besides, the rest of the NFL basically insisted that I hate the Raiders as well. Now I'm alright when it comes to them, as I occasionally write about them for SB Nation Bay Area. But today it doesn't matter, my 49ers fandom, for the time being, comes first. Go Niners, kick their [site decorums]. Here's your links, folks.

Alex Smith needs to get angry for his own good. He needs to show some fire, and go Waterboy on a few jive turkeys, apparently. What would Smith visualize, if he were to visualize the attack? (SacBee.com)

Raiders receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey isn't concerned about comparisons to Michael Crabtree. Much in the same way that Alex Smith shouldn't be concerned about comparisons to Tom Brady. Different league, son. (Yahoo.com)

The 49ers players have chosen Alex Smith as their guy to stand behind. Not Singletary, not his decisions, but Alex Smith. I think that really says a lot, to be honest. (ESPN.com)

Love the patronizing talk from who I'm assuming is a Cardinals fan in Sando's latest mailbag post. It's cute. (ESPN.com)

Are you going to the London game? There's a meetup of sorts, Maiocco has the deets. (CSNBayArea.com)

It's a role-reversal for the 49ers and the Raiders, and I hate to see that. We are in greater disarray than the Oakland Raiders, folks. Man. (Yahoo.com)
