The 49ers are off to a a strong defensive effort and a pretty strong offensive effort. The defense gave up one decent drive leading to a field goal, but otherwise have done a solid job building on last week's game. The offense had a monster first drive going 74 yards for a touchdown on four plays. The offense has lost Joe Staley and Chilo Rachal to injury for the moment, although it sounds like both will probably return. Let's hope the 49ers can put a foot to the Panthers throat and take a comfortable lead for once.
