As far as NFL prospects are concerned, there has been a lot of shifting of players up and down the boards. Some players have lived up to expectations, some have exceeded expectations, and some have just flat out fell on their faces. This week of college football will showcase some of the nations elite.
There will be some fun match ups to watch this week with a lot of BCS implications.
Below, I'll highlight the three games today in which both teams are ranked. However, there's going to be a handful of other games to keep an eye on today. There are several teams that have good squads going up against ranked teams. It's not going to surprise me much when the day ends with a few upsets.
#24 Kansas State vs. #17 Missouri - This Big 12 match up could be a close one. Both teams are teams that nobody expected a whole bunch from. Missouri had the big upset of the #1 ranked Oklahoma Sooners three weeks ago but since has dropped games against Nebraska and Texas Tech. The Tigers will be looking to bounce back against a confident Wildcats team who just last week dismantled the Texas Longhorns. Daniel Thomas should see plenty of action for the Wildcats as Blaine Gabbert should be the focus for the Tigers. Prediction: Missouri wins.
#19 Mississippi State vs. #12 Alabama - I can't see Mississippi State heading in to Alabama and coming out with the W. Alabama should roll right over the Bulldogs. We should see plenty of action on the ground from the Crimson Tide. Trent Rischardson has really come in to his own and Mark Ingram... need I say more? The fire power on both sides of the ball for the former #1 ranked Crimson Tide doesn't have many faults. The Bulldogs have lost to the only other two ranked teams they have played. Prediction: Alabama wins big.
#23 South Carolina vs. #22 Florida - The SEC crown is at stake as the Gamecocks head in to the swamp to try and claim that. The Gamecocks have been a nice surprise this year. It just goes to show how much good coaching can improve a teams chances. Florida always has a good defense though and Stephen Garcia will have his work cut out to carve up some gator in Gator Country. Prediction: South Carolina upsets Florida in the swamp.
