Well, men ... today, we play our rivals. It's one of the best rivalries in the NFL ... years ago. It's about time that heated up again. If I had to chose another team to be good in the NFC West, it would be the St. Louis Rams. I feel nothing when I think of the Cardinals or Seahawks. I mean no disrespect to their fans either, I've met a ton of Cards fans who are just great, and at least one or two 'Hawks fans I wouldn't strangle ... but when I think of rivalries, it just isn't there. I don't care about their team, I don't care about their franchise in the least bit. Maybe that's shallow of me, or just overly-full-of-pride, but there's nothing there for me. Things have heated up between San Francisco and Arizona of late, but I just don't see it. There's no genuine dislike for the Cardinals at this point. But St. Louis, that's a team that I have genuine malice for. I know if I had the antidote, some folks would get it ... and some folks would not. You can guess who wouldn't, ya dig? Onward, chillll-dren.
In other news, it's 3:45 in the morning, I didn't sleep a wink, and I'm leaving for Candlestick in approximately two and a half hours. Why do I do this to myself? I was playing Call of Duty, zombies, and got into a serious ... thing, and then I ran out of my drank. And then my pizza, and remembered I had some Nuggets to prepare for you guys ... not going to blame it on the site this time, it was all my fault here. Enjoy the links, folks.
Never too late to go check out a preview, the PD sets it out nice and simple for you. (PressDemocrat.com)
Manny Lawson has been a pleasant surprise this season thus far. Can the 49ers secure his talents going into next season? I hope we can. (SFGate.com)
It wasn't the easiest road for Troy Smith to get to be the starting quarterback for the 49ers. Hope he can succeed ... then again I'm not particularly interested in him, just the success of this team. I'm a bit selfish. (SacBee.com)
Another preview of sorts, billed as a scouting report with a bit of information about the game. (SacBee.com)
Keep the previews coming, folks. Keep 'em coming! Even when I read the same thing over and over, I can't help but read these time in and time out. (Examiner.com)
Maiocco has his latest mailbag, and talks about who between Delanie Walker and Ted Ginn will get more looks in the offense under Troy Smith. (CSNBayArea.com)
Sam Lam had a Q&A with the Examiner's Rams writer, so head on and check that out for some opposing perspective outside of Turf Show Times. (Examiner.com)
Goldson is hoping he can get back into the swing of things, and honestly, I hope he can. I don't much like him as a person anymore after the insecurity on Twitter, he's not a reasonable guy, but he's a 49er and I'll root for him to succeed while he's here. Show us second half form, buddy. (SFGate.com)
Here is Sando's final word on the NFC West going into today's games. (ESPN.com)
