Normally right about now, I would start feeling a little optimistic about the 49ers upcoming game. Friday is where I start to tell myself that they can win. Saturday I rationalize with myself and rehash reasons why they definitely should win. Sunday I'm terrified and do whatever I can to slow the quickening pace of my heart. But there's no game this week, due to the bye. I hate bye weeks a lot, I feel like football is over and I have nothing to look forward to, even though we have plenty of games left. It also leaves me with not a lot to write about.
But we had a solid edition of the 49ers Tweet-Bag yesterday here on Niners Nation, so it would be great if you checked that out. We had some more writers this team, Barrows of the Bee and the Bay Area Sports Guy were in on it, both providing insight to your biggest and most burning questions. So scroll on down to the section for yesterday's articles on NN and read it, comment on it, and be loved by me. Enjoy the linkage, folks.
This is a great bit here, Takeo Spikes asking that question to Shawntae Spencer in the interview. I love to read about stuff like that. (PressDemocrat.com)
Mike Singletary is now tethered to Troy Smith, as I noted yesterday on NN. I don't think Smith is lacking leadership, is all I can say to this. (SFGate.com)

This Yahoo article takes a look at some of the 49ers rookies. Nothing outside of the top three, though. (Yahoo.com)
DE Ray McDonald reflects on the first half of the season. Ray has played himself a pretty good couple of games, hasn't he? (49ers.com)

Sando has his latest chat wrap, always a good read. (ESPN.com)
Do the 49ers have actual, factual tangible playoff hopes? In a word: no. (Scout.com)
The 49ers paid the price by committing to an unproven QB. (SFGate.com)
These two articles aren't related to the 49ers specifically, but Maiocco paints a great picture about Giants fandom and fandom in general in relation to the San Francisco Giants in these two articles here and here. (CSNBayArea.com)
